Daily Itinerary
Day 1 - Monday, 10/7/2024 - Fly to Pittsburgh
Welcome to Pittsburgh, where two rivers come together to form the Ohio River, thus the name “City of Bridges” (446 bridges).  Meet your Tour Manager and transfer to your downtown hotel for 4 nights. Tonight, enjoy a Welcome Dinner with your fellow travelers.
- Dinner
Day 2 - Tuesday, 10/8/2024 - City Tour / Heinz History Center / PNC Ballpark
Meet our local guide for a Pittsburgh City Tour of this historic and cultural city and learn of the innovative people that made it so great. Learn about the coal mines that lead to “Rivers of Steel” and Carnegie’s Homestead Steel Works. Visit the Heinz History Center, which tells the fascinating story of the city, both past and present. Visit and tour the PNC Ballpark, home to the Pittsburgh Pirates. Opened in spring 2001, it’s an intimate, classic-style ballpark that takes advantage of its prime location on the Allegheny River for scenic vistas of the downtown skyline and riverfront.
- Breakfast
Day 3 - Wednesday, 10/9/2024 - Phipps / Frick / Carnegie
Explore more of Pittsburgh today as you see a famous mansion, spectacular gardens, and world-class museums. Visit the 1893 Henry Phipps Conservatory, a green oasis in the middle of Pittsburgh’s vibrant Oakland neighborhood, which provides a world-class garden experience. Later visit Henry Clay Frick’s Clayton Mansion.  Frick made his fortune during the steel boom of the 1800s as a business partner of Andrew Carnegie.  Clayton is the only mansion still standing from the Pittsburgh 1800s business icons era. Later visit the world-renowned Carnegie Museum of Natural History and the Carnegie Museum of Art, both were founded by Pittsburgh-based industrialist Andrew Carnegie and opened in the mid 1890’s. Later, ride the 1877 Duquesne Incline tram to the top of Mt. Washington for spectacular views of the Three Rivers.
- Breakfast
Day 4 - Thursday, 10/10/2024 - Fallingwater / Flight 93
Motor south and into the fabulous fall colors of the Laurel Highlands. Tour the magnificent Fallingwater Home, considered Frank Lloyd Wright’s greatest residential design. Finished in 1935 for Edgar Kaufmann of the department store fame, this 22 room home is integrated into the natural landscape and filled with furniture designed by Wright himself. Enjoy an included lunch today. Later, visit the Flight 93 National Memorial, a tribute to the passengers and crew of United Airlines Flight 93, who courageously thwarted a terrorist attack on September 11, 2001. Tonight enjoy your Farewell Dinner at a fine local restaurant.
- Breakfast - Lunch - Dinner
Day 5 - Friday, 10/11/2024 - Fort Pitt Museum / Fly Home
