Wheelchair for mobility issues on AFC tours
AFC welcomes all travelers, but requests that you be in good health to participate in our vacations. All of our tours involve a reasonable amount of walking (typically up to 1 mile per day).
You must be able to get on and off the motorcoach on your own. We regret that we cannot provide individual assistance with mobility issues such as pushing a wheelchair. In such cases you must be accompanied by a fit companion capable of pushing the wheelchair for you. Our tour manager cannot do this due to insurance liability issues and also for the fact that he/she will be too busy escorting the other tour clients and conducting the tour.
The same is true for portable electric scooters. You must be very experienced in the operation of the scooter and be proficient in the folding/unfolding and charging of the battery. AFC cannot assist with these things. The motorcoach driver will load and unload the scooter from the storage bay underneath the coach, and therefore we highly recommend you tip him extra for this important service.
Please feel free to contact AFC’s office manager, April Silva, at 858 481-8188 or 800 369-3693 if you have any further questions. |
