Fly to Raleigh, meet your Tour Manager, and transfer to your hotel.
Day 2 - Friday, 9/11/2026  - Breakfast - Dinner
City Tour / To Atlantic Beach
Enjoy a Raleigh City Tour to see the State Capitol Building and drive through the Victorian neighborhood of Oakwood. Later, motor south through the bald cypress trees and long leaf pines of Croatan National Forest to Atlantic Beach and your waterfront hotel for two nights. Your Welcome Dinner tonight is at a local restaurant.
Day 3 - Saturday, 9/12/2026  - Breakfast - Lunch
New Bern / Cruise / Beaufort
Travel north to New Bern to visit Tryon Palace, North Carolina’s first permanent state capitol where governors ruled, patriots gathered, and George Washington danced.  Visit the Birthplace of Pepsi-Cola, invented by a local pharmacist in 1898. Then enjoy an Inner Banks Lunch Cruise to view charming historic homes, working waterfronts, and possibly see dolphins and wild horses along the banks. Later explore the town of Beaufort, established in 1709 and the state’s third oldest town, and shop or grab a treat along historic Front Street. See the Beaufort Historic Site which depicts 18th & 19th century coastal Carolina among the oaks draped with Spanish moss. Return to Atlantic Beach for an evening at leisure.
Day 4 - Sunday, 9/13/2026  - Breakfast
Ocracoke Island
At Cedar Island, ferry across the Pamlico Sound to colorful Ocracoke Island. The town has the feel of a New England village, but with semi-tropical air! Your afternoon is at leisure to explore. Later, ferry to Hatteras Island, famous for the candy-striped Cape Hatteras Lighthouse, tallest brick lighthouse in the country. Then, arrive at your beachfront hotel in Nags Head for three nights.
Day 5 - Monday, 9/14/2026  - Breakfast - Dinner
Roanoke / Wright Brothers
This morning cross over to Roanoke Island for a visit to Fort Raleigh, home of the first English settlement in the New World. This was the “Lost Colony” founded by Sir Walter Raleigh in 1585, pre-dating both Jamestown and Plymouth. Then, explore the Wright Brothers National Memorial in Kill Devil Hills, the site of their first powered flight in 1903. Enjoy an included dinner tonight.
Day 6 - Tuesday, 9/15/2026  - Breakfast - Dinner
Day Trip to Corolla / Nature Safari
This morning, head north up the narrow strand to the historic town of Corolla. Visit Whalehead Club, a beautifully restored 1920s Art Nouveau style residence and see the Currituck Beach Lighthouse. Next, embark on an Off-Road Nature Safari in specially designed vehicles as you search for wild horses, sea birds, and foxes along the shore.  Return to your hotel and relax prior to your dinner at a local restaurant.
Day 7 - Wednesday, 9/16/2026  - Breakfast - Dinner
Edenton / Raleigh
Coach to Edenton, North Carolina’s second oldest town. A local guide joins you to take you through the streets of Edenton. See all of the historic and cultural sites in the historic downtown and the Edenton Cotton Mill. Continue on to Raleigh and tour the North Carolina Executive Mansion, a Victorian-style mansion, home to N.C. governors since 1891. Enjoy your Farewell Dinner at a local restaurant in Raleigh tonight.
